An email database is a collection or list of the names and email addresses of your current and potential customers. It can be compiled by collecting the addresses of people who express an interest in your company or products and of those who buy products from you. Email marketing databases can also be purchased for marketing campaigns, but are generally less useful than emails that come directly from your business. The list is usually stored in your email distribution software or customer relationship manager (CRM) software from which you can send bulk emails.
